Are you a Moron or a Maniac?
Jul 25, 2019Dear {{first_name}},
I know the title is a bit controversial but, bear with me!
I know that you are thinking I am neither! Of course, not right?
But let’s look at this situation. One day you left work feeling tired and desperately trying to get back home for a bit of peace and quiet. On your drive home in a small country road, you get stuck behind a car driving 20 miles slower than the speed limit. There is nothing you can do, you can’t over take him. So you have no choice but to slow down, but you are right at his back tailgating with your arms in the air swearing at him and calling him (be it in your head) ‘a moron!’
But of course, as it is rush hour there are other cars who are also driving back home and there is another driver behind you, who had to slow down, because you are having to travel so slowly, and he starts tailgating you and throwing his arms around you. You start thinking: ‘what a maniac!’ what is he doing?
The guy in the very front of the que, the one you are tailgating now starts to think: ‘what a maniac! Why is so close to me? why doesn’t he drive sensibly?
Do you see what I am getting at? According to the guy in front, you are the maniac, but according the guy behind you, you are the moron; according to you, the guy in front of you is the moron, and the guy behind you is the maniac. But in your opinion, you are neither!
So, you see, it is all about perspective. It very much depends on where you are looking at the situation from.
Perhaps next time you judge a situation or a person think first which perspective are actually taking?
