Are you letting yourself off the hook again
Feb 28, 2022#1 reason why you are constantly sabotaging your success without even knowing!
Have you considered what is the no 1 reason you are constantly sabotaging your success without even knowing might be?
...
Integrity, more specifically self-integrity - or the lack of it!
I want you to start noticing...
Where in your life do you break your promises to yourself?
How many times do you break your promise to yourself?
If you are like most high achieving women I work with, then the chances are you are great at keeping your promises to others. You are always on time, or you tell someone if you cannot do something at the time you promised it.
But when it comes to keeping your promises to yourself, it might be a different story. You might often be letting yourself off the hook and saying things like…
๐ญ I'll do that later!๐คจ
๐ญ Check that one last email!๐
๐ญ I will meditate another time (fell asleep watching Netflix instead๐๐ด)...
๐ญ I know it is important to look after myself... but it is more important that I finish this last slide before I go to bed because I promised my boss๐ฎ
๐ฅ๐ฅThat right there is what the real problem is ๐๐๐
โ You keep to the promises you give to other people (great! this shows you have integrity)๐
But...
โ You keep letting yourself off the hook when it comes to the promises you made yourself (you have little/or no self-integrity)๐
It is obvious that when you break your word to others you establish yourself as a person who cannot be trusted. Because if you consistently break your word to others they will come to experience you as a person who cannot be trusted with your word.
Of course, at times, you may not be able to keep your word. In those instances, it’s vital to let all parties know and then to remedy the situation. When you can’t keep your word and you acknowledge it to others, your integrity stays intact.
Have you considered what happens when you keep breaking your word to yourself?
If you break your word to yourself, you’ll come to believe that you cannot trust yourself, and that lack of integrity leads to low self-esteem and a low opinion of yourself.
Would you trust someone who broke their word to you as much as you break your word to yourself?
When you give your word, you’re asking someone to trust you. Do you trust your own word?
You see, plain and simple, to break your word and dance around it is self-sabotage in action.
If you’re wondering why you’re not achieving the results you want in life, the first place to start is to look at your self-integrity. Where are you out of integrity?
You might be thinking: "Well that's ok I will do it eventually, it wasn't that important anyway, it can wait!"๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Listen, every time you break a promise that you made to yourself you are telling yourself (subconsciously) that:
โ You cannot be trusted
โ You don't matter (others matter more)
โ You cannot finish what you started!
So without even knowing you self-sabotage every project, every new attempt to do anything new.
Is it no wonder that you can't bring yourself to even think about what you want?
Deep down you believe you will not get it anyway๐๐๐, because you cannot finish what you started!
You are not alone! I get it, I have been there...
