What everyone sees vs what you are actually feeling inside!
Jul 07, 2022How many of these do you experience every single day?
Being...
π© A short-tempered mum who snaps at everything your kids say
π© A tired wife who pushes her husband away with neediness and constant bad mood
π© A hard-working boss who checks emails every Sunday night just to make sure everything will be OK at work tomorrow
π© A woman who crashes on the sofa with a glass (or two) of something each night, just to numb the thought of going through it all over again the next day.
π© An ambitious woman who runs from one achievement/job title/project to the next.... just to feel worthy
π© A person who is drained of every last bit of her energy from running on empty all day long with a big smile on her face π
I heard a great quote yesterday:
"The cause is hidden, and the effect is visible to all" Ovid
And it is so true. The cause is so hidden, It is hidden even from you π²
All you and others see are the effects
No one else sees the cause but you feel deeply inside:
It is that emptiness
anxiety
uncertainty
fear
restlessness
π‘ All caused by not knowing your PURPOSE
π‘ Why YOU matter
π‘ How WORTHY you really are as a WHOLE BEING
This is why you constantly seek it outside of yourself,
from the approval of others,
The job titles, the achievements, the certificates...
Yet still,
feel empty, unfulfilled!π
I get it. I lived like this for 10 years!π’
You might not have 10 years!
Don't waste any more minutes of your precious life trying to do all the things to fill that gap!
Your purpose wants you.
It is waiting for you patiently and when you finally realise it EVERYTHING will fall into place!
But nothing will change for you until YOU DECIDE to change!
Ponder on that for a moment!
You might be thinking: “I am not ready yet” π€
If this is how you are feeling, let’s look at what that really means (because the cause is hidden you cannot see what the real meaning is)
π “I am afraid because this will change things”
π« “I would rather stay comfortable = keep doing the things I have always done; even if I don’t like them, and expect things to change by themselves” we all know where that leads us right?π
π© “I would rather stay committed to my daily struggles because those give me the certainty that I need”
π― Yes, it will for sure give you the absolute certainty that things will NOT change for you!
…
I get it. And the good news is, this is not you, it is your brain keeping you ‘safe’ in the familiarity of your comfort zone.
Once you know how to override this you can easily change things, but YOU still need to DECIDE to change, it won’t happen automatically.
You see, at so many stages in my life (and probably yours too) I was never ‘ready’ for some of the changes that came my way, but if I hadn’t taken to decision to push through the ‘unreadiness’ I would not be here right now.
...Because when you make your decisions from your current circumstances based on past experiences you only repeat your circumstances!
I was not ready…
To travel 2500 miles away from my home leaving everything I had known to start a whole new life…
I was not ready for my son to be born at 28 weeks and leave my body
I was not ready to start a business, because I didn’t know all the tech
The list goes on…
But I also I was no longer prepared to tolerate a life of
despair,
frustration,
anger
doubting myself
giving my power away to others
So, perhaps the question is not whether or not you are ready to change…
but rather what are you no longer willing to tolerate?
The choice is yours
But know this: Nothing will change outside of you until you change on the inside…
As you know I covered a whole lot of this in my Masterclass last week.
If you haven’t managed to attend, you can still watch the recording. Just send me a DM to request the recording. If you like what I write here every week, you will love what I covered in the Masterclass
After you watch the recording, book a free call here to ask me about anything you heard in the Masterclass and discover how I can help you further going forwards.
You can listen to Ian and I talk about this topic on this week’s Podcast Episode here.
Until next time…
